9 Date Ideas to Enjoy in Suffolk

'Love Day' will soon be with us for another year and whether you are happily in a couple or looking for somewhere to take a first date, I've put together 9 fun dates to do around Suffolk and, if you are not Suffolk based, it will give you some ideas to look for in your area!

A trip to the beach

For anyone that follows FSWL on social media this is an obvious one for me. Spend a day at the beach, do some beach combing, grab some fish & chips or just take a picnic and enjoy the scenery. A romantic blanket for two at sunset with a glass of bubbly also sounds brilliant to me!

Clip'n'Climb Ipswich

I often take my eldest son here and spend the whole time following him round to clip him to various climbing walls, but I'd love to have a crack at it myself. A fun way to challenge each other or just have a laugh. And as a bonus they have a fab cafe for a coffee and cake afterwards.

Paddle boarding

There are loads of locations around Suffolk you can do this if you have your own paddle board, make sure you know the area and stay safe. If you're new to it or don't have the equipment you can look up Iken Canoe near Snape or Sudbury Boat Hire for trips on the Stour. Look up East Coast Adventures too, who are a mobile unit around Suffolk.

Glamping Weekend

Spend a weekend in the countryside under a blanket with a glass or two of wine, with the luxury of a decent bed to sleep in too! Suffolk has an abundance of glamping spots, so it depends what you're looking for, but you can find some sites that are really out of the way for some really special quiet moments together.

Hike in the forest

Pack a picnic and head out into the great outdoors! Lots of the forests have walking routes that you can follow, so you can go for as far - or not so far - as you like! If you're looking for something a bit different Rendlesham Forest has a UFO trail complete with a model UFO, to add an air of mystery to the day!

Old School Cinema

Treat yourselves to a film in a good old-fashioned cinema. Woodbridge, Leiston and Southwold all have lovely old cinemas that need your support! Book in for a meal beforehand and you've got yourself a lovely date night.

A sea dip

For the brave or only for the summer?! Grab some hot chocolate, plenty of blankets and go and have a frolic in the sea! With miles of gorgeous coastline in Suffolk you're sure to find a beautiful spot for it. Please check the area and put your safety first for this one!

Thopeness Mere

Try your hand a rowing around Thorpeness Mere. There are boats to hire and a scenic view that's totally Insta worthy! Stretch out the date with lunch at one of the cafes or the Dolphin Inn or walk the path along to Aldeburgh for some fish & chips. You'll have worked up an appetite by then!

I absolutely love a spa, a day to relax, have a treatment and forget about everything else for a day. Bliss! There are lots of spas attached to hotels around Suffolk, Ickworth Hall Hotel, Hintlesham Hall and Ufford Park Hotel spring to mind. Why not make a romantic weekend of it so you can tick some of the other dates off the list as well!

For some further ideas, why not check out the Date Night Box? It contains a date night card set of 12 date ideas, one for each month of the year, as well as some his & hers chocolate and a candle to get you started! You can find it here!
